Tools for Cleaning, Loading, and Firing

Water Bucket and Sponge and Ram

The water bucket would be used with the sponge and ram to clear any embers inside the gun. First someone would use a worm or a pole with a spirl metal hook on the end to remove anything that might be left n there from the last firing. Then someone would use the sponge and dip it in the water bucket. After doing so the would use the sponge to put out and embers the might be in the barrel so the heat doesn't set off the powder. Then they would use the rammer after putting in the powder.

Friction Primer

This would be used to take the place of a lit fuse. The way this works is when the metal wiring on top is pulled it ignites the friction composition there for setting of the powder.(it used musket power and was quite water proof from a wax sealings)

Time Fuses

Time fuses would mainly be used for mortars, shells, cannonballs, ect. The time fuses is a type of fuse that after a certian amount of time it will set of the powder or fuel that is inside of the projectile so it can cause more damage then just trying to get lucky and hit them. This works like this there would be a fuel in the time fuse that would burn at a desired period of time so that after that time it would ignite the fuel or powder setting off the explosive. The lines that you see on the picture going side to side are the time lengths on the fuse. Just grab a fuse saw and cut tell you get the desired amount of time you want.
